This diptych is the second piece for my undergraduate thesis project. I continued working with themes of modern American icons and how they could be interpreted through an art historical lens. I wanted to make a marriage portrait of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Piero della Francesca's Duke and Duchess of Urbino was the perfect reference because of the connection the couple had to their town. Kim and Kanye have put the city of Calabasas on the map, and have brought it into the homes of millions of Americans through their TV show.
I used Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens for the entirety of this project. Two 22'' by 30'' pages.
